The Land I Left Behind - Memoirs of Puerto Rico
Book written by Aymee Paddock Canelas and illustrated by Jaymee Weinreich. Puerto Rico today is quite differnet from what it was in the 1920s and 1930s but its culture continues to have strong influences from the old way of life. The author preserves her memories of her childhood, a life when time was kept by th tolling of the church bell, and the whistel of the train.

"Purruchas" by Hiram Rosado
Hiram Rosado first created "purruchas" as the physical embodiment of prosperity. The ever-winding spiral and the never-ending sphere fuse here to comunnunicate the excitement of growth and expansion. These are both luchy charms and decorative sculptures.

Jaymee Weinreich is a local artist in eastern Puerto Ricon. The Coqui frog creates the music heard at night on the islands and is the favorite of the locals.
